The EuroMillions winner has finally been revealed!
A self-employed builder who now plans to retire early, discovers he is £76 million richer after finding his winning EuroMillions ticket tucked in the sun visor of his Peugeot van.
Andrew Clark aged 51 from Boston, Lincolnshire in the UK, bought his winning ticket from Eastwood Road Post Office in Boston.
The EuroMillions winner had the habit of stockpiling lottery tickets in his van and only checking them every three months. In a recent interview, he confessed that he had always stored his lottery tickets in his visor but admitted it was unsafe as his tickets have often blown away. Luckily this winning ticket did not blow out the window.
The winner said: "It was something of a standing joke that I had all these tickets while there was a local prize outstanding..." His partner Trisha, and niece Louise nagged him to check his tickets after they heard the winning ticket was bought in the Boston area and that there was an unclaimed prize.
A delighted Mr. Clark said: "Trisha kept telling me to check the tickets, and her niece Louise, who I was building an extension for, was also in on it once she'd heard about the unclaimed prize in the news".
After receiving the good news of his magical win, Mr. Clark expressed how stunned he was, not believing his good fortune. On hearing Trisha's screams, her niece Louise came running down the stairs thinking the dog was dying. Mr. Clark shouted out, "I've done it."
The first thing the lucky winner did was buy a car for his partner Trisha, which he paid for in cash. This caused the seller to inquire whether Mr. Clark was by any chance the £76 million lottery winner!
Mr. Clark, who refers to himself as, "the man who almost lost £76 million" realized he might be the mystery winner and started going through his stash of tickets - claiming his prize 6 weeks after the draw.
The grandfather-of-three said that they don't plan on going mad on the spending, and that "...the best thing about the win is how we can help all our family."
Mr. Clark has already experienced the thrill of going shopping - he bought a new home and two cars and plans to hire a big lodge or hotel to celebrate Christmas next year with the family, sharing experiences since the win.
He had these final thoughts to share with everyone: "This win isn't about Christmas magic, it's about creating a lifetime of magical moments for all those around us."
