Are you ready to make the month of September the month to remember?

LottoStar is proud to bring you the Big September competition with Joburg’s favourite radio station, 947, from the 12th to the 30th of September 2022. In the 3 weeks of the competition, players can look forward to 3 weeks of fun, 3 thrilling games, big winnings and raising funds for the Star Foundation.

Who is The Star Foundation?
The Star Foundation is a non-profit company that was founded by LottoStar Pty Ltd which undertakes and oversees various causes, ensuring that the donation process is transparent and that all funds are accounted for.

The inspiration came from the philanthropic efforts made by LottoStar, through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives to provide relief for diverse causes such as sports sponsorships, bursaries, medical financial aid and much more.

The Star Foundation believes in the spirit of Ubuntu, giving back to the communities of South Africa and uplifting those in need. Their vision and mission is to restore dignity and uplift various communities in South Africa through several initiatives that vary from education, sanitation, community development, animals to environmental projects.

From the proceeds of LottoStar's Big September competition with 947, The Star Foundation will support The Character Company.

Who is The Character Company?
The Character Company is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) that mentors young boys from the ages of 5 to 10 years old, who are from households headed by single mothers and are in need of father figures.

The organisation comprises of a group of men and women from diverse backgrounds who are committed to addressing the impact of a father’s absence on these young boys’ lives and society at large.

The organisation has weekly and weekend activities for the boys and sometimes their families. They have camps throughout the year and a support structure is provided for single mothers.

In addition, the organisation advocates for the well-being of women and children.

With the funds raised from LottoStar’s Big September competition with 947, The Character Company will be able to contribute towards more mentorship camps for both the young boys and mentors.
