LottoStar contributes R100,000 towards 14-year-old Felicity Ncube’s operation, who has been diagnosed with severe scoliosis, a painful curvature of her spine. Through Jacaranda FM’s Good Morning Angels, we stepped in to support Felicity and ensure she receives the care she needs.

Felicity was born without arms or legs and was left abandoned shortly after birth by her family. A painful start to her life.

Soon after being abandoned, Felicity was found and placed at Tshwane Haven Children’s Home, a place of safety and love for abandoned children. Despite being born without arms and legs, Felicity has learned to move around independently, hopping and using her wheelchair to navigate life on her own terms.

However, life presented her with yet another challenge. She is currently battling a severe spinal curvature (scoliosis) that threatens her mobility unless she undergoes urgent surgery.

With the help of compassionate doctors and medical professionals who have offered their services pro bono, Felicity will soon get surgery to correct her spine, which will also give her a real chance at a pain-free, independent future.

She aspires to be a motivational speaker, sharing her story with schools and communities to demonstrate that harsh circumstances don’t define one's destiny. Felicity has faced unimaginable odds with strength and grace, and we at LottoStar are proud to support her every step of the way.

The contribution forms part of the funds raised through our Fortune Frenzy competition on Jacaranda FM.

Our thrilling Woza Win competition on Metro FM has come to an end – and true to LottoStar’s style, the biggest win is changing lives.

For three exciting weeks, South Africans tuned in, played thrilling games live on air and celebrated their wins. But behind winning big, something far more meaningful was taking shape. Together, our players helped raise R951,750 for 

 – an organisation dedicated to making sure that no learner faces the school day on an empty stomach.

Every morning, across South Africa, the Foundation serves nutritious breakfasts to learners in vulnerable communities. It’s a simple act with a powerful ripple effect. A meal at the start of the day doesn’t just fill a stomach – it fuels focus and gives every child an equal chance to learn, grow and dream.

The Foundation’s impact reaches further than the classroom. Those who prepare and serve the meals gain skills and experience that strengthen their prospects for employment, we have witnessed this with their partnership with

. Together, they’ve launched a five-year In-School Breakfast Programme across eight schools in the Ehlanzeni District of Mpumalanga, ensuring more learners start their day with the nourishment they need to take on the day.

Thanks to the funds raised during our Woza Win competition, the Foundation will be able to feed 1,561 learners for an entire year at Sefako Makgatho Primary School. That’s 1,561 young minds starting each morning with the energy to take on the day.

Good Morning Angels – From Compassion to Cure


 competition with Jacaranda FM, our players helped raise R1,024,000 for Good Morning Angels, a long-standing beacon of hope for South Africans in crisis.

R697,000 was used to purchase a cutting-edge laser treatment machine for the Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital, giving young burn victims a chance at healing and recovery. The remainder contributed support Good Morning Angels’ life-changing projects, including endometriosis care, surgery for choledochal cysts and helping a woman with severe vision impairment regain the gift of sight – ensuring compassion reaches those who need it most.

These aren’t just stories of aid—they are stories of renewed dignity, courage, and second chances.


Groote Schuur Hospital – Urgent Care Without Delay


South Africa’s public hospitals face immense pressure, especially in emergency care. To help bridge this critical gap, LottoStar donated 

 to Groote Schuur Hospital’s Emergency Fund for Emergency Surgery (EFES).

This support enables 70 additional emergency theatre surgeries over the next year, particularly during high-traffic periods like weekends and public holidays when trauma cases spike. Every theatre list funded means another patient seen in time, another life saved, and another family spared loss.


Gift of the Givers – Water, Health, and Hope


 competition with Ukhozi FM, LottoStar players raised R879,000 for 

one of Africa’s most trusted humanitarian organisations.

These funds provided 1,758 Pure Flow Amanzi water filter buckets, each sustaining up to five people with clean drinking water for two years. Designed to be gravity-powered and electricity-free, these filters remove 99.99% of harmful bacteria, delivering a simple yet revolutionary solution to South Africa’s urgent water crisis.

For over three decades, Gift of the Givers has been a lifeline in times of crisis – providing disaster relief, fighting hunger, supporting healthcare, advancing education, and ensuring access to water for vulnerable communities.

Thanks to our incredible players, we raised R879,000 in support of this remarkable cause. This contribution will fund 1,758 water filter buckets, each valued at R500. Flowing with Impact: LottoStar Woza Win Supports Gift of the Givers

 are proud to help a brave little girl get the surgery she urgently needs, giving her a second chance at growing up pain-free and healthy.

Eight-year-old Zelné is the youngest of three daughters of single mom, Annetjie Potgieter. Earlier this year, Zelné fell ill and what doctors first thought was appendicitis turned out to be something more serious. Upon further scans, it was discovered that she was suffering from choledochal cysts on her liver, which is a rare condition that can lead to serious complications if untreated.

It was recommended to have the cyst removed along with the girl's gallbladder and part of her small intestines to construct her bile ducts.

For mom Annetjie, this was not only an emotional challenge, but a financial one too. As a single mother without medical aid, she managed to raise R131,000 for young Zelné's surgery. However, the surgery total is R209,138, leaving a shortfall of over R78,000.

With her surgery scheduled for 19 August 2025, LottoStar will be covering the outstanding amount of R80,000 needed for Zelné’s surgery through Good Morning Angels.

Lottostar & Good Morning Angels Donate R80,000 to an 8-year-old Girl

 will be giving the gift of sight to a resilient young woman, living with severe vision impairment.

As part of our Fortune Frenzy competition with 

, we will be donating R47,000 through Good Morning Angels to Lerato Dibe, a 37-year-old single mother to an 8-year-old daughter who’s been living with severe visual impairment from early childhood.

Growing up in an environment where exposure to dust and fire ash was unavoidable, she developed chronic eye problems that caused her to rub them repeatedly as a child, without having an idea that it would cause long-term damage to her vision.

Today, Lerato sees just 5% through her right eye and about 50% through her left eye, and with age, her vision is expected to decline.

Every day, Lerato shows up to her work with a warm smile and a steady hand, serving coffees and kindness as a barista at a canteen in Gauteng. However, behind her gentle presence is a story that stopped one of her regular customers in their tracks.

The concerned customer noticed her struggling to see while working and decided to refer Lerato to their personal optometrist, who generously offered her a free assessment. After assessing Lerato, she recommended that she sees an ophthalmic surgeon, who also kindly did not charge for the assessment.

After the thorough examination, Lerato was advised on an urgent surgery to lift her dropping eyelid. This would later be followed by a specialised intraocular lens implant that could assist Lerato to regain up to 90% of her vision in that eye.

Even though Lerato received free consultations, there are still hospital, anaesthetic and lens bills that need to be covered.

LottoStar will contribute R47,000 to help cover Lerato’s medical costs. The contribution forms part of the money raised in our Fortune Frenzy competition.

Lottostar Gives a Cup of Kindness to Help Lerato See the World Again

In the spirit of Women’s Month – a time to honour the resilience, strength and courage of women across South Africa – 

, is proud to support a young woman whose bravery in the face of chronic illness has moved us all.

At just 26 years old, Miss Mothapo is enduring a battle many don’t even know exists. Diagnosed with severe endometriosis, she is fighting a painful condition that affects 1 in 10 women yet remains widely misunderstood and underdiagnosed. In her case, endometrial-like tissue has spread aggressively beyond her uterus, affecting both her ovaries – with cysts nearing 10cm in size and spreading to her pelvis and large bowel. If left untreated, the condition could lead to life-threatening complications, including ruptured cysts and a fully obstructed bowel.

But more than just a physical struggle, this illness has stolen so much from her. It has kept her from living the life every 26-year-old should be able to dream of – pursuing an education, working toward her goals and living with joy and independence. Instead, each day has been a battle against pain, fatigue and uncertainty.

To honour her strength and help change the course of her story, LottoStar is donating 

 toward her much-needed medical treatment. This contribution will help provide the surgical care and specialist treatment that Miss Mothapo urgently needs, giving her the chance to reclaim her health and future.

Restoring Hope: LottoStar’s R100,000 Donation for Endometriosis Care

 competition has proudly donated R697,000 to 

 (GMA) for a life-changing laser machine to treat burnt young patients at the Nelson Mandela Hospital.

Broadcasting live from the hospital in Parktown, Johannesburg, the GMA team had been calling on listeners to help raise R1,4 Million for this cutting-edge laser treatment machine – one that offers hope, healing and a chance at a better future for children suffering from severe burn wounds.

In South Africa, 256 children sustain burn injuries every day, many in the safety of their own homes. Their delicate skin makes these wounds more traumatic and harder to treat. The specialised laser machine will help reduce long-term scarring and ease recovery for countless young patients.

With R121,000 already raised by compassionate listeners, LottoStar’s generous contribution closed the gap, delivering the remaining R697,000 needed to meet the goal. The amount contributed forms part of the money raised through our Fortune Frenzy competition.
