At just 18 years old, waitress Ianthe Fullagar scooped more than £7 Million (about R155 Million) on EuroMillions shortly after finishing her A-levels roughly equivalent to Matric (Grade 12) in South African terms.

The shock of winning such a huge amount left her completely overwhelmed. In fact, the excitement caused such a commotion at home that her dog even ended up biting her on the bottom during the chaos!

Imagine helping your grandchild with homework and stumbling upon a forgotten C$1 Million (around R13 Million) winning ticket.

That’s exactly what happened to Nicole Pedneault and Roger Larocque from Canada. While helping their grandson with a school project about Japan, they opened an old book and discovered a lottery ticket from the 15 April 2018 draw tucked between the pages.

The couple found it in April 2019, almost a year after it had been purchased – just in time to claim the prize before it expired.

“It’s all just by chance that we found it at the last minute like that,” one of the winners said.

A couple wins the lottery three times in one month


For one couple in Virginia, luck didn’t just knock once – it practically moved in.

At Sijabulile Primary School, 208 learners and eight teachers have been using toilet facilities that are damaged, unsafe, and unhygienic. Leaking roofs, broken doors, and full pits created daily health risks for young children.
