Any person who enters the Competition acknowledges that the Terms and Conditions set out herein shall be binding on them.

The Competition is only open to Participants 18 years of age or older. Participants are required to be in possession of a valid South African Identity Document.

The Competition is not open to any employees, agencies, prize sponsors or contractors of LottoStar, 947 or any person directly or indirectly involved in the organisation or running of the Competition, or their immediate family members.

The Competition (consisting of three separate weeks) will take place on 947 on weekdays only, airing between 06h00 and 19h00, from 8 September 2025 to 3 October 2025.

In all weeks, Participants will have the opportunity to win additional money if they have placed a bet through their own LottoStar account at 

(i.e., if they are an “active LottoStar Player”) as specified in each Competition week’s terms below (“

To participate in the Competition, listeners are prompted via on-air advertising to visit the station Competition page or the direct landing page Competition URL:  

 LottoStar banners will direct them to the Competition landing page. Here they will be required to fill in and submit the following: the Competition answer, name, surname, ID number, mobile number, email address and accept the Terms and Conditions as well as the Privacy Notice.

LottoStar does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the prize.

Participants agree that LottoStar may use their name, image and town of residence to announce any Winner of the Competition and for any other reasonable and related promotional purposes. Furthermore, any Participant/Winner may be required to have their details disclosed on radio and have their image appear on television, social media, the Internet or in printed publications. Participants further agree to participate in any reasonable publicity required by LottoStar.

In terms of the provisions of the Financial Intelligence Center Act of 2001 Winners will need to furnish LottoStar with a copy of their identity details (identity document/passport which must be valid), proof of residence in the nature of a statement/invoice of account (rendered by a City Council or a bank in the case of mortgaged property) and proof of bank account details (the aforementioned statements/proof shall not be older than 3 (three) months). All documents must be furnished within 5 (five) days of the request for the documents. Should any Winner/s have failed to comply with the provisions of FICA, within the time specified, then LottoStar shall be prohibited from paying the prize money to the Winner/s and the prize money will be forfeited.

All FICA (Identity Document, proof of banking details, and proof of residence) documentations must accurately reflect the information provided on the Participant’s LottoStar account, including full names, surnames, banking details and ID numbers. Additionally, the details on the Participant’s Competition entry must correspond with the information on their LottoStar account. Any discrepancies will result in a forfeiture of the Participant’s winnings.

Participants must answer their own phone when 947 calls. If the call is not answered by the actual entrant or if the call is not answered at all, such entrant will not be entitled to be a Participant.

The prize is not transferrable and is non-negotiable.

Participants indemnify and hold LottoStar, 947 and its promotional partners, their directors, employees, their agents (“the Indemnified Parties”) harmless against and all liability pertaining to any damage, cost, injuries and losses of whatsoever nature and howsoever arising (whether direct or indirect) as a result of their participation in the Competition and related events activities and the use of any prize monies, including, without limitation, personal injuries, death, and property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation or invasion of privacy, or any claims in terms of POPIA.

LottoStar reserves the right to cancel the Competition at any time, if deemed necessary in its sole opinion, and if circumstances arise outside of its control and shall not be liable in anyway whatsoever to Participants or intended Participants in such event for any cause or action whatsoever.

Participants in this Competition understand and expressly agree that LottoStar may provide their Personal Information to 947 for purposes of the execution of the Competition, allocation and/or distribution of Prizes.

Winning the Competition is only finalised once the Winners names are announced on air or on any 947 or LottoStar digital platform.

If any Winner is disqualified from the Competition, LottoStar reserves the right to select an alternative Winner (if possible) in the same manner as the original Winner and such selection will be subject to these Terms and Conditions.

If a Participant is contacted, for any reason whatsoever, prior to the live on-air moment, such Participant’s LottoStar player status cannot be changed. For the avoidance of doubt, their player status at the exact time that the initial contact is made will remain for purposes of the Competition. For the avoidance of doubt, Participants must be an “active LottoStar Player” as defined in each Competition week’s terms below to win any additional monies (if applicable).

By submitting a Competition entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.

By entering the Competition, you hereby warrant that all information submitted by you in your entry is true, accurate and complete in every respect. LottoStar reserves the right to verify any information contained in your entry and/or your eligibility to enter the Competition. LottoStar reserves the right to disqualify any Participant/Winner where any information is found to be inaccurate or incorrect. If an Entrant’s identity number or name is entered incorrectly, for any reason whatsoever, and LottoStar cannot verify the Player Status of a Participant, such Participant will not be eligible for any additional winnings that may be applicable.

By entering into the Competition, Participants expressly acknowledge that they have read these Big September Competition Terms, Conditions and the Privacy Notice before entering the Competition and that they understand and thereby agree to these Big September Competition Terms, Conditions and Privacy Notice.

The Participant agrees that participating in the Competition and his/her acceptance and/or use of a prize or any aspect thereof is at his/her own risk.

Any violation or attempt to violate any of the Promotional Terms and Conditions will result in the immediate disqualification of the Participant/Winner.

LottoStar may disqualify a transgressor for entry into any other LottoStar Competitions, for a period deemed appropriate by LottoStar Management.

The Charity for the Competition will be Surgeons for Little Lives (“

Execution moments will take place on 947 on weekdays only, airing between 06h00 and 19h00, from 8 September 2025 to 3 October 2025.

The prize will be a R2 500 (two thousand five hundred Rand) cash prize which will be payable to the Participant who is randomly selected from those Entrants who answer the Competition question correctly and answer their phone when 947 call.

The presenter will ask the Participant whether they have placed a bet on LottoStar on or after 8 September 2025 (i.e., whether the Participant is an “active LottoStar Player” as defined in clause 2.7 below for purposes of week 1). Only if the Participant is an active LottoStar Player will they stand the chance to win additional monies, if any.

The Aviator week consists of a plane that flies. The Presenters will have access to a URL that hosts the Big September Competition. The Radio Presenter will start the Competition when the Participant is ready. As the plane flies the amounts announced accumulate. The Participant must tell the Radio Presenter when they want to cash out. The Participant must cash out by advising the Radio Presenter who will click the “cash out” button on the Participant's behalf. If the cash out is not received prior to the plane flying away, irrespective of any delays occasioned by the Radio Presenter, the Participant will not receive any additional value. The monetary value and/or when the plane flies away is determined by a certified Random Number Generator (RNG), which RNG has been audited by LottoStar’s independent auditors.

If a Participant is not an active LottoStar Player for purposes of the Aviator week he/she will be asked to participate in Aviator to see what they could have won should they have been an active LottoStar Player and to determine what the Charity donation will be. For the avoidance of doubt, an active LottoStar Player is defined in clause 2.7 below.

The value donated to the Charity will be: (i) R2 500, if the Participant does not cash out before the plane flies away; or (ii) the same value as the Participant, if the Participant cashes out with an additional value, irrespective of their Player Status.

For the purposes of week 1 of the Competition an “active LottoStar Player” is defined as a person who has made at least a single paid bet, through their own LottoStar account at 

 on or after 8 September 2025. For the avoidance of doubt, a free bet (Freebie, Free Spins/Money, Promo Credit purchase or any bet placed other than using Play Credits (real money)) does not constitute a bet for the purposes of being considered an active LottoStar Player.

Week 1 of the Competition will take place on the following dates:

15 September 2025 x 4 guaranteed Winners of R2 500 plus a chance to win up to R250 000 if the player is an active LottoStar Player (as is defined in clause 2.7 above);

16 September x 4 guaranteed Winners of R2 500 plus a chance to win up to R250 000 if the player is an active LottoStar Player (as is defined in clause 2.7 above);

17 September 2025 x 4 guaranteed Winners of R2 500 plus a chance to win up to R250 000 if the player is an active LottoStar Player (as is defined in clause 2.7 above);

18 September 2025 x 4 guaranteed Winners of R2 500 plus a chance to win up to R250 000 if the player is an active LottoStar Player (as is defined in clause 2.7 above); and

19 September 2025 x 4 guaranteed Winners of R2 500 plus a chance to win up to R250 000 if the player is an active LottoStar Player (as is defined in clause 2.7 above). 

Execution moments will take place on 947 on weekdays only, airing between 06h00 and 19h00, from 22 September 2025 to 26 September 2025.

The Presenter will ask the Participant whether they have placed a bet on LottoStar on or after 20 September 2025 (i.e., whether the Participant is an “active LottoStar Player” as defined in clause 3.7 below for purposes of week 2). Only if the Participant is an active LottoStar Player will they stand the chance to win additional monies, if any.

The Money Grab week consists of 16 money bags that each contain a value between R500 and R250 000. The Participant is then asked what money bag they would like to select for the Competition, after the Participant has selected a money bag, the Radio Presenter will also select a money bag. Once both the Participant and the Presenter have chosen their money bags the Radio Presenter will reveal all the remaining money bag amounts and inform the Participant of the values in the remaining bags. The Participant is then asked if they would like to switch the money bag they selected with the Radio Presenter’s one. The Participant's decision regarding whether to keep or exchange their money bag with the Radio Presenter shall be final and binding.

If the Participant is not an active LottoStar Player for purposes of the “Money Grab” Competition (as is defined in clause 3.7. below) he/she will be asked to participate in the Money Grab competition to see what they could have won should they have been an active LottoStar Player.

The value donated to the Charity will always be the higher value between the Money Bag chosen by the Participant and Radio Presenter, irrespective of the Participant’s selection.

For the purposes of week 2 of the Competition an “active LottoStar Player” is defined as a person who has made at least a single paid bet, through their own LottoStar account at 

 on or after 20 September 2025. For the avoidance of doubt, a free bet (Freebie, Free Spins/Money, Promo Credit purchase or any bet placed other than using Play Credits (real money)) does not constitute a bet for the purposes of being considered an active LottoStar Player.

Week 2 of the Competition will take place on the following dates:

22 September 2025 x 4 guaranteed Winners of R2 500 plus a chance to win up to R250 000 if the player is an active LottoStar Player (as is defined in clause 3.7 above);

23 September 2025 x 4 guaranteed Winners of R2 500 plus a chance to win up to R250 000 if the player is an active LottoStar Player (as is defined in clause 3.7 above);

24 September 2025 x 4 guaranteed Winners of R2 500 plus a chance to win up to R250 000 if the player is an active LottoStar Player (as is defined in clause 3.7 above);

25 September x 4 guaranteed Winners of R2 500 plus a chance to win up to R250 000 if the player is an active LottoStar Player (as is defined in clause 3.7 above); and

26 September 2025 x 4 guaranteed Winners of R2 500 plus a chance to win up to R250 000 if the player is an active LottoStar Player (as is defined in clause 3.7 above).

Execution moments will take place on 947 on weekdays only, airing between 06h00 and 19h00, from 29 September 2025 to 03 October 2025.

The prize will be a R 2 500 (two thousand five hundred Rand) cash prize which will be payable to the Participant who is randomly selected from those Entrants who answer the Competition question correctly and answer their phone when 947 call.

The Presenter will ask the Participant whether they have placed a bet on LottoStar on or after 27 September 2025 (i.e., whether the Participant is an “active LottoStar Player” as defined in clause 4.9 below for purposes of week 3 of the Competition). Only if the Participant is an active LottoStar Player will they stand the chance to win the additional monies, if any.

The Presenters will have access to a URL that hosts the Big September Competition. The Beat the Bomb electronic sheet has numbers ranging between 1 and 30 as follows: 20 of the numbers hold values ranging between R2 500 – R75 000; 10 of the numbers are bombs, which must all be avoided to win the R250 000 prize. Participants can cash out at any point before selecting another number.

If the Participant hits a bomb at any stage prior to cashing out, they will not win any additional amount, if applicable.

If a Participant is not an active LottoStar Player for purposes of the Beat the Bomb week he/she will be asked to participate to see what they could have won should they have been an active LottoStar Player and to determine what will be donated to the Charity. For the avoidance of doubt, an active LottoStar Player is defined in clause 4.9 below.

If a Participant is an active LottoStar Player they will win the cash amount accumulated (where applicable), if the Participant cashes out before hitting a bomb.

The value donated to the Charity will be: (i) R2 500 if a Participant’s first selection is a bomb; or (ii) if the Participant does not hit a bomb as their first selection, but hits a bomb during the round, LottoStar will contribute the accumulated amount achieved prior to the Participant hitting a bomb; or (iii) where no bomb is hit and the Participant cashes out prior to hitting a bomb (or beats the bombs), such amount will be donated.

For the purposes of week 3 of the Competition an “active LottoStar Player” is defined as a person who has made at least a single paid bet through their own LottoStar account at

30 September 2025 x 4 guaranteed Winners of R2 500 plus a chance to win up to R250 000 if the Player is an active LottoStar Player (as is defined in clause 4.9 above);

01 October 2025 x 4 guaranteed Winners of R2 500 plus a chance to win up to R250 000 if the Player is an active LottoStar Player (as is defined in clause 4.9 above);

02 October 2025 x 4 guaranteed Winners of R2 500 plus a chance to win up to R250 000 if the Player is an active LottoStar Player (as is defined in clause 4.9 above); and

03 October 2025 x 4 guaranteed Winners of R2 500 plus a chance to win up to R250 000 if the Player is an active LottoStar Player (as is defined in clause 4.9 above).

Privacy Notice and the Processing of Personal Information

" means any natural person(s) with whom LottoStar has concluded a relationship or may in future conclude a relationship, as well as any Participants who participate in the Competition.

" means any operation or activity or any set of operations, whether or not by automatic means, concerning Personal Information/Personal Data, including: 

the collection, receipt, recording, organisation, collation, storage, updating or modification, retrieval, alteration, consultation or use; 

dissemination by means of transmission, distribution or making available in any other form by electronic communications or other means; or

merging, linking, blocking, degradation, erasure or destruction. For the purposes of this definition, "Process" has a corresponding meaning

To enter into the Competition, Participants will be required to:

provide LottoStar with the Personal Information requested by the LottoStar through functionality on the Competition URL: 

consent to the Processing of their Personal Information for the purpose(s) identified in these Competition Terms and Conditions.

Participants must provide correct and up-to-date Personal Information, as required by LottoStar pursuant to each engagement with LottoStar via the relevant Competition URL:

By engaging as a Participant in the Competition, LottoStar will in effect be processing the Personal Information provided by the Participant from time to time.

LottoStar undertakes to process any Personal Information in a manner which promotes the constitutional right to privacy, retains accountability and Data Subject participation.

The Winner/s of any prize hereby acknowledge that by participating in the Competition, LottoStar will be Processing their Personal Information and the Winner/s specifically consent to the LottoStar Processing any Personal Information which is collected through the Competition for purposes of not only adjudicating the Competition, but also for purpose(s) of marketing LottoStar’s products and services to the Winners.

The Participant/s, by part taking in the Competition, expressly consents to their Personal Information to be Processed for the following purposes:

for LottoStar to onboard the Participant/s as a customer of LottoStar, specifically in terms of the provisions of section 69(3) of the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013;

to share the Participant/s Personal Information with the LottoStar’s employees, contractors, agents or affiliates for the purpose of undertaking the Competition;

to provide or manage any information and services requested by the Participant/s in general and in his/her capacity as a Customer of LottoStar;

to help LottoStar to identify Participant/s when they engage with LottoStar via the relevant Competition URL: 

to (if applicable) allocate unique identifiers to Participant/s for the purpose of securely storing, retaining and recalling their Personal Information from time to time;

to enable LottoStar to market their products and/or services to Participant/s;

to transfer Personal Information to any Third Party in order to enable LottoStar to market their products and/or services to Participants;

to transfer Personal Information across the borders of South Africa to other jurisdiction;
