are completed by third parties or in bulk;

have been altered, reconstructed, forged or tampered with;

The Competition is not open to employees, agencies, prize sponsors or contractors of LottoStar, Primedia and/or KFM or any person directly or indirectly involved in the organisation or running of the competition, or their immediate family members.

The Competition (consisting of three separate weeks) will take place on KFM on weekdays only, airing between 06h00 to 19h00, from 9 May 2022 to 27 May 2022.

Entries for the Competition open on 3 May 2022 and close at 15:00 on 27 May 2022 and are subject to the competition week terms applicable for each week below.

In all weeks, Participants will have the opportunity to win additional money if they have placed a bet through their own LottoStar account at 

 (i.e., if they are an “active LottoStar player”) as specified in each competition week’s terms below.

To participate in the Competition, listeners are prompted via on-air advertising to visit the station competition page or the direct landing page Competition URL: 

. LottoStar banners will direct them to the competition landing page. Here they will be required to fill in and submit the following: competition answer, name, surname, ID number, mobile number, email address and accept the Terms and Conditions as well as the Privacy Notice.

The Competition answer pertains to the Competition question, being: “name one game that you can bet on at lottostar.co.za”.

The judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

LottoStar does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the prize.

Participants agree that LottoStar may use their name, image and town of residence to announce any Winner of the Competition and for any other reasonable and related promotional purposes. Furthermore, any Participant/Winner may be required to have their details disclosed and have their image appear on radio, television, social media, the Internet or in printed publications.

Participants further agree to participate in any reasonable publicity required by LottoStar.

In terms of the provisions of the Financial Intelligence Center Act of 2001 it will be necessary for Winners to furnish LottoStar with a copy of their identity details (from an identity document/passport which must be valid), proof of residence in the nature of a statement/invoice of account (rendered by a City Council or a bank in the case of mortgaged property) and proof of bank account details (the aforementioned statements/proof shall not be older than 3 (three) months). All documents must be furnished within 5 (five) days of the request for the documents. Should any Winner/s have failed to comply with the provisions of FICA then LottoStar shall be prohibited from paying the prize money to the Winner/s.

The prize is not transferrable and non-negotiable.

Participants indemnify and hold harmless LottoStar and KFM and its promotional partners, their directors, employees, their agents (“the Indemnified Parties”) of any and all liability pertaining to any damage, cost, injuries and losses of whatsoever nature and howsoever arising as a result of their participation in the competition and related events activities and the use of any prize monies, including, without limitation, personal injuries, death, and property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation or invasion of privacy, or any claims in terms of POPIA;

Any violation or attempt to violate any of the above rules will result in the immediate disqualification of the transgressor.

LottoStar may disqualify a transgressor for entry into any other LottoStar competitions, for a period deemed appropriate by LottoStar Management.

LottoStar reserves the right to cancel the Competition at any time, if deemed necessary in its sole opinion, and if circumstances arise outside of its control and shall not be liable in anyway whatsoever to Participants in such event for any cause or action whatsoever.

Winning the Competition is only finalised once the Winners names are announced on air or on any KFM or LottoStar digital platform.

If any Winner is disqualified from the Competition, LottoStar reserves the right to select an alternative Winner in the same manner as the original Winner and such selection will be subject to these terms and conditions.

By submitting a competition entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.

By entering the Competition, you hereby warrant that all information submitted by you in your entry is true, accurate and complete in every respect. LottoStar reserves the right to verify any information contained in your entry and/or your eligibility to enter the Competition. LottoStar reserves the right to disqualify any Participant/Winner where information is found to be inaccurate or incorrect.

By entering into the Competition, Participants expressly acknowledge that they have read these May Money Competition Terms, Conditions and Privacy Notice before entering the Competition and that they understand and thereby agree to these May Money Maddness Competition Terms, Conditions and Privacy Notice.

It is a material term of the Competition that all Participants participate at their own risk.


Execution moments will take place on KFM on weekdays only, airing between 06h00 and 19h00, from 9 May 2022 to 13 May 2022.

The prize will be a R2 500 (two thousand five hundred Rand) cash prize which will be payable to the entrant who is randomly selected from those who answer the competition question correctly and who answer their phone when KFM call.

The presenter will ask the participant whether they have placed a bet on LottoStar on or after 1 May 2022 (i.e., whether the participant is an “active LottoStar player” as defined in clause 2.7 below for purposes of week 2). Only if the Participant has done so will they stand the chance to win additional monies, if any.

The Aviator competition consist of a plane that flies. Each presenter will have access to a URL that hosts the May Money Madness Competition. The Radio Presenter will start the competition when the Participant is ready. As the plane flies the amounts announced accumulate. The Player must tell the Radio Presenter when they want to cash out. The Player must cash out by advising the Radio Presenter who will click the “cash out” button on the Participants behalf. In the event that the cash out is not received prior to the plane flying away, the Participant will not receive any additional value. The value of each monetary value and/or when the plane flies away is determined by a certified Random Number Generator (RNG), which RNG has been audited by LottoStar’s independent auditors.

If a listener is not an active LottoStar player for purposes of the “Aviator” competition (as is defined in clause 2.7 below) he/she will be asked to participate in the Aviator competition to see what they could have won should they have been an active LottoStar player and to determine what the Charity donation will be.

The charity of the Competition is Peninsula School Feeding Association (“PSFA”) and the value donated will be: (i) R2500, if the Participant does not cash out before the plane flies away; or (ii) the same value as the Participant, if the Participant cashes out with an additional value, irrespective of their player status.

For the purposes of week 1 of the Competition an “active LottoStar player” is defined as someone who has made at least a single paid bet, through their own LottoStar account at 

 on or after 1 May 2022. For the avoidance of doubt, a free bet (Freebie, Free Spins/Money or Promo credit purchase) does not constitute a bet for the purposes of being considered an active LottoStar player.

If a Participant is contacted, for any reason whatsoever, prior to the live on-air moment, such Participant’s status cannot be changed. For the avoidance of doubt their status at the time that the initial contact is made will remain for purposes of the Competition.

Week 1 of the Competition will take place on the following dates:

The prize will be a R 2 500 (two thousand five hundred Rand) cash prize which will be payable to the Participant who is randomly selected from those who answer the Competition question correctly and answer their phone when KFM call.

The presenter will ask the Participant whether they have placed a bet on LottoStar on or after 14 May 2022 (i.e., whether the Participant is an “active LottoStar player” as defined in clause 3.6 below for purposes of week 2 of the Competition). Only if the Participant has done so will they stand the chance to win the additional monies, if any.

Each presenter will have access to a URL that hosts the May Money Madness Competition. On air, the presenter will ask the Participant to choose between Black or Red. For purposes of Lightning Roulette, 0 is neutral. Once the Participant has chosen, the presenter will confirm the Participants selection and three lucky numbers will be struck by lightning multipliers – the lightning will only strike those numbers that are within the colour selected by the Participant or 0 (zero). Next, the Presenter will spin the Roulette Wheel. If the roulette wheel lands on any number that is the colour chosen by the Player, they will win the amount that is attributable to that number. If the roulette wheel lands on a multiplier, the value landed upon will be multiplied by the multiplier to determine the final value. If no multiplier applies, the value that the roulette wheel lands on is the value that the player will win, if they are an active Lottostar player. If the Roulette Wheel lands on the colour not selected by the Participant, there will be no additional winnings.

The charity of the Competition is PSFA and the value donated will be: (i) R2500, if the Participant selects the incorrect colour; or (ii) the same value as the Participant, if the Participant wins an additional value, irrespective of their player status.

If a listener is not an active LottoStar player for purposes of the Competition (as is defined in clause 3.6 below) he/she will be asked to participate in the game to see what they could have won should they have been an active LottoStar player and to determine what will be donated to PSFA.

For the purposes of week 2 of the Competition an “active LottoStar player” is defined as someone who has made at least a single paid bet through their own LottoStar account at 

 on or after 14 May 2022. For the avoidance of doubt, a free bet (Freebie, Free Spins/Money or Promo Credit purchase) does not constitute a bet for the purposes of being considered an active LottoStar player.

In the event that a Participant is contacted, for any reason whatsoever, prior to the live on-air moment, such Participant’s status cannot be changed. For the avoidance of doubt their status at the time that the initial contact is made will remain for purposes of the Competition.

Week 2 of the Competition will take place on the following dates:

The prize will be a R 2 500 (two thousand five hundred Rand) cash prize which will be payable to the entrant who is randomly selected from those who answer the competition question correctly and answer their phone when KFM call .

The presenter will ask the Participant whether they have placed a bet on LottoStar on or after 21 May 2022 (i.e., whether the Participant is an “active LottoStar player” as defined in clause 4.9 below for purposes of week 2 of the Competition). Only if the Participant has done so will they stand the chance to win the additional monies, if any.

The Participant will be presented with options (1 – 8) at every level, with 7 levels in total. In level 1 there is 1 bomb to avoid, in level 2 there are two bombs to avoid, in level 3 there are 3 bombs to avoid, in level 4 there are 4 bombs to avoid, in level 5 there are 5 bombs to avoid, in level 6 there are 6 bombs to avoid and finally in level 7 there are 7 bombs to avoid. For the avoidance of doubt, the amounts are not accumulative in Beat the Bomb Deluxe and are as follows: level 1 – R500; level 2 – R 1 500; level 3 – R 5 000; level 4 – R 25 000; level 5 – R 50 000; Level 6 – R 125 000; and level 7 – R250 000.

The Participant will be asked to select a number between 1 – 8 for each level, until the Participant cashes out or a bomb is hit. If the Participant hits a bomb in any level prior to cashing out, they will not win any additional amount.

If a listener is not an active LottoStar player for purposes of the Beat the Bomb competition (as is defined in clause 4.9 below) he/she will be asked to participate in the game to see what they could have won should they have been an active LottoStar player and to determine what will be donated to PSFA.

If a listener is an active LottoStar player they will win the cash amounts attached to the level, if the Participant cashes out before hitting a bomb.

The charity of the Competition is PSFA and the value donated will be: (i) R2 500 if a Participant’s first selection is a bomb; or (ii) if the Participant does not hit a bomb as their first selection, but hits a bomb during the round, LottoStar shall contribute the amount in the level achieved prior to the Participant hitting a bomb; or (iii) where no bomb is hit at all and the Participant cashes out prior to hitting a bomb, such amount will be contributed to charity.

For the purposes of the week 3 of the Competition an “active LottoStar player” is defined as someone who has made at least a single paid bet through their own LottoStar account at

Privacy Notice and the Processing of Personal Information

" means any natural person(s) with whom LottoStar has concluded an agreement or may in future conclude an agreement, as well as any Participants who participate in the Competition.

the collection, receipt, recording, organisation, collation, storage, updating or modification, retrieval, alteration, consultation or use;

dissemination by means of transmission, distribution or making available in any other form by electronic communications or other means; or

merging, linking, blocking, degradation, erasure or destruction. For the purposes of this definition, "Process" has a corresponding meaning

The Winner/s of any prize hereby acknowledge that by participating in the Competition, LottoStar will be Processing their Personal Information and the Winner/s specifically consent to the LottoStar Processing any Personal Information which is collected through the Competition for purposes of not only adjudicating the Competition, but also for purpose(s) of marketing LottoStar’s products and services to the Winners.

The Participant/s, by part taking in the Competition, expressly consents to their Personal Information to be Processed for the following purposes:
