Every LottoStar competition reminds us of what the power of community can achieve. Our Big September on 947 was not just about thrilling wins but also about giving hope where it matters most and making a real difference for South Africa’s little ones.
After three weeks filled with wins, three exciting games and an unforgettable Big September – it’s a wrap!
Our players walked away with R534,000 in winnings and raised R864,500 for Surgeons For Little Lives – a non-profit organisation committed to saving and transforming the lives of children through access to quality surgical care.
Supporting Heroes in Scrubs
South African doctors are among the best in the world, but many face challenges that are beyond their control – from limited resources to overburdened public hospitals. This is where Surgeons For Little Lives steps in.
Run by a group of paediatric surgeons, the organisation raises funds for specific projects that can improve paediatric care. Whether it’s purchasing new equipment, upgrading facilities and offering support to family or caregivers, they aim to raise the standard of paediatric surgical care where public hospitals cannot achieve this on their own.
Every Rand Raised Makes a Difference
Thanks to the funds raised through our Big September competition, every R150 will go towards supporting a child’s surgery at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital. This funding will help improve the quality and safety of operations performed on young patients – from scheduled procedures to urgent life-saving surgeries.
The paediatric surgical team performs over 200 operations every month, giving countless children a fighting chance at recovery and a brighter future.
Thank You, Mzansi
To every player who entered our Big September competition on 947, you have helped drive a transformative change that the public healthcare sector needs and a second chance at a healthy, happy life for our little ones – Thank you!
