Oh, what a week of thrills and wins it has been. LottoStar’s Woza Win competition with Metro FM has come to a close.
Our lucky winners not only won a total of R192,000 but raised an impressive R400,000 for The Star Foundation.
The Star Foundation is set to make a meaningful impact by supporting various charities with different, chosen by your favourite Metro FM presenters.
The Best Morning presenters DJ Sabby, Kandis Kardash, Owen Hannie and Zandile Hopa selected Kids Haven as their chosen charity. Located in Benoni, this organization serves as a sanctuary for children without parental care offering them shelter, protection, education and therapy.
The Break Away show, hosted by Khutso Theledi, chose Association for the Sensory Disabled (ASD), an organization dedicated to caring for sensory multi-disabled children in impoverished rural communities of Worcester. They are also striving to provide accessible, sustainable and integrated services for these children’s well-being.
The Midday Link-up trio, namely Lerato Kganyago, ProVerb and Mel Bala, selected Project Dignity, an organization working to uplift and restore the dignity of schoolgirls in South Africa. Project Dignity empowers these young girls by educating them about their bodies and improving their self-esteem.
The Touch Down’s Tbo Touch, chose Home of Hope for Girls, a safe residence for children and teenagers who have survived abusive situations, mainly linked to child sex trafficking.
The funds raised from our Woza Win competition will be evenly distributed amongst all the mentioned charities, therefore R100,000 goes to each of the above mentioned organisations.
