Jane Parks’ dream of winning the lottery came true at age 17. She won £1 Million (almost R23 Million) when her numbers came up in the EuroMillions draw, back in 2013. 10 years later she claims that she has not spent all of her winnings, however, she does have one regret.
At just 17, Jane admits that she did, "splurge her winnings because she never knew the value of a million pounds".
Although she does not regret splurging lavishly on herself, she does regret going public with her winnings.
According to The Reeves Law Group, “Lottery winners are not obliged to go public with their winnings. They decide who can know about their new-found fortune.”
Jane claims that people tend to assume that she blew her £1 Million (almost R23 Million) winnings, however, it is quite the contrary. She added, "I have not even spent all of the money and they seem to think they know more about my life. It's hard because when I was younger I read the comments and it affected me and these people have never met me and they've probably never even seen me."
She appeared on the show The Curse of the Lottery, a show that predicts the odds of winning the lottery, where she shared her experience of winning a huge sum of money at a young age.
She opened up about how she spent the winnings on a new home, cars, designer bags, holidays and multiple cosmetic surgery procedures namely, breast surgery, liposuction, veneers, Botox and 2 Brazilian buttock lift procedures.
"I kinda splashed a bit on stuff that I always wanted and then one of my aunts stepped in and was like 'You should invest some now in property and stop going on holiday”, she says.
