The majority of what he won was used to create the Anyama Foundation, named after a town in the Ivory Coast, where he spent several years of his childhood. After Pearlier Smith and her seven children won a massive $429 million (R7,3 Billion) betting on the USA Powerball draw in 2016, they did not spend it on real estate or fancy cars. Instead, after paying off their mortgage and student loans, they set up the Smith Family Foundation to provide financial funding for various organizations that aim to improve the lives of people in the city of New Jersey.
£115 million win made her "addicted to helping"
In anticipation of her 2019 EuroMillions jackpot win, Frances Connolly, made a list of all the friends and family she planned to give money to before the draw happened. She scooped a £115 Million (R2,3 Billion) fortune and gave away more than half of her winnings.
"It gives you a buzz and it's addictive. "I'm addicted to it now”, said Frances.
