LottoStar has contributed R50,000 to Veronica Louw and her grandchildren from Eldorado Park, who lost their home due to a fire. This horrific event occurred on the 10th of June, leaving Veronica, her daughter, and grandchildren destitute.
However, the heartbreak did not stop there, 3 days later Veronica’s daughter, Quinteline, died in the hospital due to smoke inhalation.
Sadly, leaving Veronica with her three grandchildren aged 2, 3 and 4 years old, homeless. She is unemployed and a widow. Her husband, who was the breadwinner of the family passed away two years prior. She and the grandkids had to move in with Veronica's sister, who also lives in the same neighborhood. The 3-bedroom house is occupied by 17 extended family members.
With the help of the community who reached out to us, the super team from LottoStar and Good Morning Angels would be helping Veronica and her family rebuild their home.
Lottostar has donated R50,000 towards replacing household goods that were destroyed in the fire. The funds contributed form part of the money raised in our How Lucky Can You Get? competition on Jacaranda FM.
Additionally, Good Morning Angels also donated R10,000 in AngelRands towards food and groceries for Veronica and her extended family members. Kobus Du Plooy, a property developer, and his team have also offered to rebuild and repair Veronica’s home for free.
Thanks to LottoStar, Good Morning Angels and their angel, Kobus, Veronica along with her family will receive the help that they need.
