It’s been a week now since the Oz Lotto’s $23 million jackpot, which is approximately R231 million here in South Africa, was won by a ‘mystery winner’.
The mystery winner is still to come forward to claim their windfall from the Tuesday, 26 March 2019 draw. The winning ticket is reported to have been bought at Hobart City Lotto, however, the winning entry is not registered to a Tatts Card for officials to trace or contact the lucky winner.
The winner holds one of the three division one winning entries and bags $23 million. The lucky winning numbers are: 12, 28, 24, 29, 9, 18 and 25, with supplementary numbers 13 and 31. “
We are so curious to know who our mystery $23 million Oz Lotto winner is and why it has taken them so long to come forward to claim their prize”, stated Bronwyn Spencer, Tatts spokesperson.
According to Spencer, “Tasmania isn’t a stranger to large wins, with a Tasmanian man scoring a $30 million Powerball division one prize in September last year”. Remarkably, it took the winner five days to come forward and claim their winnings.
Spencer adds that, “Hobart’s mystery Oz Lotto millionaire holds Australia’s largest unclaimed division one prize. We currently have about dozen unclaimed prizes across the country totalling $53 million.”
Lotto players in Tasmania have about six months to claim their winnings before being transferred to the Tasmanian Treasury and Finance office. However, if this period has passed, prize winners can submit a claim form to the Treasury and Finance office.
