Imagine you have just won a major payout and you are faced with an enviable task of spending your newfound fortune? EuroMillions ran a survey on how the different genders spend their lottery winnings. So, how would you splurge your first windfall?
According to the survey, most women would splurge their windfall on designer shoes and jewellery. In the survey, 3,000 people were asked, ‘what would you buy if you won the jackpot?'. While men opted for luxurious cars like Aston Martin, Lamborghini, gadgets etc the ladies said that they would rather splurge on filling their closets.
According to the EuroMillions spokesperson, "The results showed the average woman would splash her winnings on £2,000 (R40,621) Christian Louboutin or Jimmy Choo shoes, holidays and diamonds.
“We wanted to give people the chance to think of things which are beyond their wildest dreams - the kind of things you could buy with a massive jackpot win. The two lists are fascinating - women seem to love the idea of owning designer fashion items, but have also included a few things which would make their homes more stylish. Men go straight for the transport and gadgets, wanting the very latest developments in technology and vehicles alike”, said a EuroMillions spokesperson.
Once-in-a-lifetime items like a Vera Wang, which averages $5,000 (R86,685) wedding dress ranked high on the list. What would you splurge on? Personally, I’d splurge on a week-long trip to St. Tropez, a Hermès mini Kelly bag and a Porsche 911.
Whether you want to buy tons of designer shoes or would like to invest more wisely, place your bets on the EuroMillions draw which takes place every Tuesday and Friday night, at 20:00 in South Africa.
