Ireland celebrates another major EuroMillions winner – On Tuesday one lucky person in Ireland won the €49.5 Million EuroMillions jackpot (R961 Million in South Africa). The winner has not yet come forward but according to news reports, the only winning ticket came from Ireland. This is Ireland’s 16th EuroMillions jackpot winner since 2004 and the 16th EuroMillions jackpot winner this year so far. The winning numbers were revealed to be 14, 15, 24, 29 and 42, plus Lucky Stars 2 and 4.

A spokesperson for the Irish National Lottery said: “This is amazing news for one of our lucky players, €49.5 million is truly a life-changing prize and we are delighted to confirm that this lucky ticket was sold in Ireland.

“This is Ireland's 16th EuroMillions jackpot winner and we are now asking all our players to check their tickets very carefully to see if they are the lucky winner or winners.” What would be your reaction if you found out that you had just won a R225 Million jackpot?

This comes shortly after she was informed that she is cancer-free.

Lynne’s husband, David Price, rushed home to inform his wife that they had won the lottery minutes after she had opened a letter of her scan results showing that she was now clear from breast cancer. Lynne was diagnosed with cancer in 2015 and underwent treatment followed by a scan in October.

According to David, he found out that they had won the lottery while at work and quickly rushed home to present the good news to his wife - but she also had her own to share too. “I was shaking and totally lost for words which never happens”, explained Lynne. “I went and had a bath for two hours and just lay there trying to take it all in”, she continued.

Remarkably, this is the third time the Price family wins the lottery. David’s sister, Judith, won the lottery in the 90s as part of the Cardiff cigar factory syndicate and Ade Goodchild, a distant relative, won a payout of over R1,3 billion in the 

“It's pretty amazing to have three big winners in one family”, remarked David.

The couple does not plan on quitting their jobs until they decide what they would like to do with their big winnings. Some of their plans include a three-week expedition at Mount Everest and a trip to China with their three children.

According to Powerball, the only jackpots larger than this Wednesday’s one were the record-breaking $1,586 billion claimed by winners in Colorado, California and Tennessee in January 2016. While the second-largest one was claimed by a South Carolina woman who bagged $1,537 billion Mega Millions jackpot in October 2018.

The jackpot has now reset to $40 million for Saturday’s draw.

A man from Melbourne, also dubbed “hard-working” man, has won $46.6million in the $70 million

I just checked my entry online and I think I know what you’re about to tell me. I’m speechless, I can’t believe it’, he continued.

This is reported as the game’s biggest jackpot this year and third highest Australian lottery offer in 2019.

The jackpot was not won for seven weeks and therefore resulted in this massive offering of $70 million. Hart describes this win as ‘remarkable’ because ‘there were three division one entries, but two winners’. ‘The reason for this, the two Victorian entries are held by one registered player’, explained Hart.

The man explained that he has been playing the same numbers for the past 30 years without any significance until now. These were the winning numbers: 12, 28, 24, 29, 9, 18 and 25. The supplementary numbers being 13 and 31.

With regards to what his plans are now that he has won the two thirds of the jackpot, his response: ‘I still need time for the news to register. I might think about retiring.

First maybe a new home or a holiday. I’ll definitely share it with my family’, he continued.

Hart mentions that there were 20 punters who won division one in last year’s Oz Lotto and bagged a total of $253,7 million.
